The Location
The playground will be installed in Adelaide Wells Park located at the intersections of Kipps Lane
and Adelaide Streets in the City of London. The park is nestled in among trees and is an ideal
location for families to enjoy. The playground would be used by members of the Kipps Lane
Community who currently do not have a play structure in thisr area. The playground will be a
welcome addition to other enhancements made toAdelaide Wells Park in 2007. These enhancements
included: picnic tables, park benches and a continuation of the City’s bike pathway through
this park along the Thames River.
London
Scenically located at the Forks of the Thames, London is often referred to as The Forest City.
As Canada’s 10th largest city, London provides residents with big city amenities, as well as a
sense of community that is more reminiscent of a small town. The creation of this new neighbourhood
playground will help foster a heightened sense of community and pride for Londoners living in this
area.
The Activity
Establishing a playground along with other activities such as graffiti removal,
Thames River bank cleanup and park beautification would bring recreational and play opportunities
for children and families while improving the quality of life in this community. |
